'When Kiran Met Karen' (WKMK) is a cross-cultural romance, set in New York. Chriselle Almeida plays Kiran Lohar, a famous Bollywood actress, who has come to New York to promote her new film 'A Himalayan Love Story', and spend time with her fiance' Dev Ghosh , a rich and successful musician. At the press conference, Kiran meets a lesbian journalist Karen Sorens. There is an instant connection, attraction. What happens in next few days, is the crux of the story. Will Kiran come out of the closet, or will she fear Bollywood - the industry that gave her the stardom? The English language film explores the controversial theme of lesbianism, within the setting of South Asian conservatism, lifestyle and existence.
